CAVA Fiery Broccoli Recipe

This CAVA Fiery Broccoli Recipe was based on the well-known hot roasted broccoli used in grain bowls of Mediterranean style. It is simply roasted broccoli mixed with olive oil, spices and some heat and baked till somewhat crispy and caramelized.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups Broccoli florets Fresh bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil Extra virgin preferred
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika Adds smoky flavor
  • ½ tsp Red chili flakes Adjust for spice level
  • ½ tsp Garlic powder Or 2 fresh cloves minced
  • ½ tsp Ground cumin Optional but recommended
  • ¼ tsp Salt Adjust to taste
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper Freshly ground
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice Fresh squeezed

Equipment

  • 1 Baking tray Large enough for spreading broccoli
  • 1 Mixing bowl Medium size
  • 1 Parchment paper Prevents sticking
  • 1 KnifeFor chopping
  • 1 Cutting board Stable surface

Method
 

Step 1: Preheat
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). High heat is key for crispy edges.
Step 2: Prep the Broccoli
  1. Wash and dry broccoli well. Cut into even florets so they cook evenly.
Step 3: Season
  1. In a bowl, toss broccoli with olive oil, paprika, chili flakes, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.Make sure every piece is coated.
Step 4: Spread on Tray
  1. Line tray with parchment paper. Spread broccoli in a single layer. Don’t overcrowd — this is important!
Step 5: Roast
  1. Bake for 18–22 minutes until edges are crispy and slightly charred.
Step 6: Finish
  1. Remove from oven and drizzle fresh lemon juice. Toss gently.
