Ingredients

  • 1 cup Light corn syrup Gives classic gooey texture
  • 1 cup Brown sugar Packed
  • ½ cup Unsalted butter Melted
  • 3 large Eggs Room temperature
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract Adds depth
  • ¼ tsp Salt Balances sweetness
  • 2 cups Pecans Whole or halves
For the Crust
  • 1 9-inch Pie crust Store-bought or homemade

Equipment

  • 1 Mixing Bowl For filling
  • 1 Whisk For mixing
  • 1 9-inch pie pan Standard size
  • 1 Measuring cups & spoons Accurate measurement
  • 1 Oven Preheated

Method

Step 1: Preheat the Oven
  1. I preheat my oven to 350°F (175°C).
Step 2: Prepare the Crust
  1. I place the pie crust into the pie pan and gently press it in. If homemade, I chill it for 10 minutes before filling.
Step 3: Make the Filling
  1. In a bowl, I whisk together melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Then I add corn syrup, eggs, vanilla, and salt. I whisk until everything combines nicely.
Step 4: Add Pecans
  1. I stir in the pecans or arrange them evenly in the crust first, then pour the filling over them.
Step 5: Bake
  1. I bake for 50–60 minutes. The center should jiggle slightly but not be liquid.
Step 6: Cool Completely
  1. This step is very important. I let the pie cool for at least 2–3 hours so it sets properly.
